THE PLAYERS Championship Landing Page

A digital destination for Comcast Business's partnership with THE PLAYERS Championship. It extended the onsite experience to a wider audience and fed a virtual executive forum. Traffic the week before the event was 5x 2024.

My role

I led UX and design on this series of landing pages highlighting the Comcast Business sponsored experience during the Players Championship at TPC Sawgrass. Working with Marketing and PGA partners, I built 3 variations that gave users a look at robust highlights with virtual event registration, videos, and a custom photo gallery component.

The problem

As a proud partner of the PGA for the Players Championship, Comcast Business ran a campaign with tactics across broadcast, social, digital and onsite activations, and it needed a home on the Comcast Business website. The goal of the landing page was to promote the virtual executive forum, so that the thought leadership shared onsite could keep generating leads, as well as extend to a wider virtual audience.

The solution

The landing page series presents our partnership with the PGA TOUR, the solutions powering connectivity at the tournament, and our expertise in helping enterprises deliver engaging experiences to their own customers. Content and order shifted before, during, and after the event to keep driving leads live and then later, with replay registrations for the forum. An additional highlight was Game the Green, a shot prediction game that simulated the 17th hole green at TPC Sawgrass, where spectators could use tablet kiosks and their mobile devices to play and win prizes.

The impact

The first, pre-event version of the page drew 5x the traffic of 2024 in the week before the tournament, and 5x the engaged traffic. Across the whole campaign, the digital destination drew 2x the traffic of 2024, and the virtual forum it promoted produced 10x the digital leads.

  • 5x traffic to the pre-event version of the page in the week before the tournament, compared to 2024
  • 2x traffic to the digital destination overall, compared to 2024
  • 10x digital leads from the virtual forum compared to 2024
  • 1,500+ virtual executive forum registrants

Project features

  • Hero and sub-navigation
  • Video case study and core experiences
  • Virtual forum registration
  • Photo carousel and partnership proof
  • The page before, during and after the event

Lessons learned

This was a lot of fun to do, mostly because there was such a wealth of great content to work with, which makes creating a nice user journey a little easier. I had access to these great video case studies and a full gallery of official PGA photography. I really enjoyed building out the photo gallery component, which was new for this page and it felt like the initial version of the page came together very quickly, and then we could really focus on the goals and how they dictated the hierarchy on the page. Of course I'm always proud to win a few awards along the way too.
